One of the most striking features of Luftwaffe aircraft during the Second World War was the widespread use of distinctive badges and emblems that identified individual Luftwaffe units. Some of these insignia remained in use throughout the war and even into the final days of the conflict.

The Luftwaffe units using their own insignia ranged in size from full-blown Luftflotten (Air Fleets), down to small temporary groupings of a rotte (pair) of aircraft. Many such units were famous fighter and bomber units - such as JG 2, ZG 76, KG 2 and KG 54. Others were less well-known including maritime squadrons, humble training units and even communication flights. Whatever their status, they proudly carried their own unique badge on their aircraft, but until now there has been no comprehensive reference source for these emblems.

Now, this fully revised and greatly expanded edition of Luftwaffe Emblems provides a unique reference to these markings and features over 1,000 emblems - many of which were previously unknown - along with many previously unpublished photographs. Grouped by squadron type and function, Luftwaffe Emblems is an exceptional reference aid for modellers, historians, enthusiasts and anyone with an interest in WWII Luftwaffe aircraft.
