 AS is the designation for MiG-17s that went through multi-role conversion, most of these were MiG-17Fs.
 This aircraft is capable of carrying K-13A missiles (AIM-9B replicas).
 Bombs drop one by one, left to right, outer pylons first.
 More stable at high transonic speeds than the MiG-15, though control responsiveness is still diminished.
 At transonic speeds the aircraft will start pitching up and the ailerons and rudder will start fluttering.
 It is safe to fly past mach 1; however controls will be unresponsive as they are not hydraulically boosted.
 This version utilises a larger airbrake than that of the MiG-17A.
